Carrying rocks in your pocket adds burden to your journey
It’s just common sense: if you keep adding rocks in your pocket, the extra weight makes walking difficult and sooner or later, something has to give. You don’t see adults with a pocket full of rocks but yet, quite a few carry the weight of resentments, guilt, remorse or shame as a daily burden.
Everyone makes mistakes. We either 1) learn from these experiences and release the baggage or 2) carry the weight of past errors into every day of our lives, a heaviness just below the surface of our consciousness that weighs us down to some degree. If our best efforts have not eliminated this load; if our will power and determination have not broken the chains that keep us burdened by the past, perhaps only the mighty expulsive energy of a sincere spiritual affection can remove this burden. In the quiet, close your eyes; reflect on that weightless feeling of having all past errors removed; come to love and nurture the desire for that feeling of freedom; breathe in that cool, clean air of total release from the past; know in your deepest heart that this can be your life.
Prayer: My loving and wonderful inner spirit connection I give you all my past—my errors and regrets, my memories of things I should have done differently, things I could have done better, words I wish I had said or had not said. Let your expulsive spiritual energy cleanse all feelings for these past regrets. I humbly ask you to remove anything that stands in the way of my soul progress.
Take three relaxing breaths; ask your inner spirit to guide your meditation; reflect on the content, pausing for a few minutes in silence.
