Actions—not intentions or promises—produce results
Three frogs are sitting on a log and one decides to jump in the water. How many frogs are left on the log? Of course, three frogs are still on the log. Making a decision to jump in the water is not the same as jumping in the water. Action—the actual ‘doing’, the implementation of decisions, intentions, and promises—is the force directly that determines our quality of life.
First or all, make the best choice. Gather information, use logical and practical tools to evaluate the practical alternatives; then, look at the motives and desires for making the choice. Do they originate from self-driven will or do they align with your spiritual goals, values and principles? Decisions based on fear, anger or other emotional miseries often have unintended consequences. After that, do not hesitate or procrastinate. Take action. The doing, the implementation is necessary to achieve any results. Action transforms decisions, intentions, and promises from ethereal, will-of-the-wisp clouds into solid existence.
- People believe what I do more than what I say.
- Saying “I love you” and actually showing love by my actions are vastly different things.
- Past actions predict results better than promises.
- The act is ours, the consequence, God’s.
Prayer: My spirit, my guide, help me use all resources to make choices that benefit my life and my soul; strengthen my will and initiative to act; then, give me the power to move from the dead center of inaction, lethargy, and procrastination to accomplish my goals and purpose.
Take three relaxing breaths; ask your inner spirit to guide your meditation; reflect on the content, pausing for a few minutes in silence.
